Dustin Brookshire and Beth Gylys are teaming up to co-edit a special issue of Limp Wrist dedicated to villanelles. The special issue that will be published in August. & yes, it is true: the special issue will only feature villanelles.  Whether your villanelle strictly adheres to the form or bends the rules, Dustin and Beth want to read your poems. 

The submission period for the Limp Wrist villanelle issue closes at midnight (EST) on Friday, August 20, 2021.

A professor of Creative Writing at Georgia State University, Beth Gylys is an award-winning poet whose fourth book of poetry, Body Braille, was published by Iris Press in 2020. Her three previous collections include Sky Blue Enough to Drink (Georgia Author of the Year Finalist, Grayson Books 2016), Spot in the Dark (The Journal Award, Ohio State University Press 2005), and Bodies that Hum (Gerald Cable First Book Award, Silverfish Review Press 1999), and she has two published chapbooks: Matchbook and Balloon Heart (Quentin R. Howard Competition, Wind Press 1997).  Her work has recently been featured on Verse Daily and the Best American Poetry blog and has also appeared in the Kenyon Review, Barrow Street, Southern Review, The Boston Review, New Republic, Paris Review, and many other journals and anthologies.
